These Healthy Christmas Cookies are festive, buttery, and naturally sweetened with maple syrup. Made with almond flour and just 4 main ingredients, they’re gluten free, dairy free, and refined sugar free. Perfect for holiday baking that everyone can enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups almond flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons dairy-free butter (unsalted, melted)
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

Optional (highly recommended):

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper and lightly oil the surface.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together almond flour, cornstarch, and cinnamon (if using).
  3. Stir in maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla, and almond extract until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Roll dough between two sheets of parchment to about ¼ inch thickness.
  5. Cut out shapes using festive cookie cutters. Place on the prepared sheets.
  6. Bake 8–10 minutes until edges are just golden.
  7. Cool completely on a wire rack before decorating or serving.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake, as cookies continue to firm up while cooling.
  • For nut-free, replace almond flour with sunflower seed flour.
  • Decorate with melted dark chocolate, powdered sugar, or a light glaze once cooled.
  • Store in an airtight container for 5 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 2 months.
