This Cherries in the Snow is a light creamy no bake dessert that layers fluffy angel food cake with a silky whipped cream cheese filling and a bright cherry topping. It looks beautiful on any holiday or potluck table and chills into the most refreshing slice.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 3 fourths cup powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 third cup whole milk
  • 1 half teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces whipped topping thawed
  • 1 pre baked angel food cake 15 ounces torn into pieces
  • 42 ounces cherry pie filling 2 cans


Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese until completely smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the powdered sugar and mix until fully blended.
  3. Pour in the whole milk and vanilla and beat again until silky.
  4. Fold in the whipped topping gently to keep the mixture light and airy.
  5. Fold in the torn angel food cake pieces without crushing them.
  6. Spread the creamy mixture into a nine by thirteen dish.
  7. Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the top.
  8. Chill for at least thirty minutes and up to two hours before serving.

Notes

  • For the smoothest filling make sure the cream cheese is fully softened.
  • Longer chill time gives cleaner slices and a firmer set.
  • You can use one and a half cans of cherry filling for extra topping and save the rest for serving.
