Crispy, perfectly seasoned red potatoes made effortlessly in the air fryer. A delicious and easy side dish or snack that’s sure to please.
Ingredients
Scale
1.5 pounds red potatoes, cleaned and cut into 1-inch cubes
2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon onion powder
Optional Garnish: Fresh parsley or rosemary
Instructions
Prep the Potatoes: Scrub the red potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Cut them into evenly sized 1-inch cubes for uniform cooking.
Coat with Oil: Place the potato cubes in a large bowl and toss them with olive or avocado oil to ensure each piece is evenly coated.
Season the Potatoes: Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and onion powder to the bowl. Toss until all the potato pieces are well-seasoned.
Arrange in the Air Fryer: Spread the seasoned potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket to allow for even cooking and crispiness.
Cook the Potatoes: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Air fry the potatoes for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Check for Doneness: Test a potato with a fork; it should be tender and crispy. If additional crispiness is desired, cook for 2–3 more minutes.
Serve: Remove the potatoes from the air fryer and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh parsley, rosemary, or a squeeze of lemon if desired.
Notes
Cut Evenly: Ensure all potato pieces are of similar size for consistent cooking.
Don’t Overcrowd: Arrange potatoes in a single layer to maximize crispiness. Cook in batches if necessary.
Flavor Variations: Add smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, or Italian seasoning for a twist.
Reheating Tip: Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes to restore crispiness.
Serving Suggestions: Pair with eggs for breakfast, or serve as a side dish with roasted meats or grilled vegetables.
