- 1.5 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
- ½ cup salsa (mild, medium, or hot based on your preference)
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons pickled jalapeños, finely diced (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
Tortillas:
- 12 corn tortillas (6-inch) or small flour tortillas
For Cooking:
- Cooking oil spray
Optional Toppings:
- Sour cream
- Salsa
- Diced onions
- Fresh cilantro
- Guacamole
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix salsa, sour cream, diced jalapeños, lime juice, and taco seasoning until well combined.
- Add the shredded chicken and cheese to the bowl and stir until the filling is evenly mixed.
- Wrap the tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30–40 seconds to make them pliable.
- Place a tortilla on a flat surface and add 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture to the lower third of the tortilla.
- Roll the tortilla tightly into a flauta shape.
- Repeat the rolling process with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil.
- Arrange the flautas seam-side down in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Lightly spray the tops of the flautas with cooking oil.
- Cook the flautas for 8–10 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
- Remove the flautas when they are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm with your favorite toppings like sour cream, salsa, guacamole, or diced onions.
